Alkylbenzene sulfonic acid refers to a class of molecules with a general formula such as R-C6H4 (benzene ring)-SO3H. R is generally a hydrocarbon of 10-20, which can be straight or branched. Representative dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid is an important anionic surfactant, often used as a raw material for various detergents or used to produce linear alkyl benzene sulfonic acid sodium salt, ammonium salt and ethanolamine salt.
